Roda de Bara

Moved again after another windy night to a site we have stayed on before, it's called Playa de Bara. This is a site with everything, from 500 seat amphitheatre for nightly entertainment to supermarket and gift shop. The owner is a pensioner and does a very cheap package for over 65's, pitch and electricity for €13.75 and additional 25% off for 3 weeks or more. The site has a nice restaurant too and that gives us 10% off as well!

Needless to say there are lots of people of a certain age and there are also  several tour operators here including Eurocamp. However it's a big site in a botanical garden/wood  so it does not feel crowded. Eurocamp still have the same type of tents that we camped in with the children 35 or more years ago in France. Happy memories!

Roda de Bara has many old Roman remains including the impressive 1BC arch which stands in the central reservation on the main road past the site. There is a good walk along the cliffs to a marina and restaurants to keep us occupied over the weekend
