Our Motor homes

Our current motorhome is a Nu Venture Moniche pictured here on an Aire on its first outing to France in 2008. Is it a camper van or is it a motorhome?

It's made by a small company in Wigan, UK and based on the Ford Connect van. Its a small, economical, 1900cc diesel van that's easy to park and has everything we need, on a small scale. The L shaped lounge is very comfortable and converts into either 2 singles or a huge double bed. Sink unit, two burner gas cooker (no oven!) and toilet compartment complete the facilities. The only mod-con we lack is a shower, but be honest - how often do you use the shower in your van? There is plenty of storage space for a long trip including BBQ and outdoor furniture to go with our 2.8m Fiamma roll-out shade. We have electric, or gas, space and water heaters and the 80W solar panel enables us to be independent of mains electricity when we choose.

I installed a home made computer and TV/monitor which also serves as a DVD player and hosts Gladys our Satnav software via the dual purpose reversing camera monitor (everything has two uses with a small van!).  Update for 2010 - Gladys has now been retired in favour of a Garmin satnav, TV with integrated DVD and an Acer netbook.
Update for 2016 - Chrome book and smart phones have replaced the Acer netbook.

This was our previous van, the slightly smaller but very distinctively  painted Nu-Venture Surf. Its pictured when we visited that bizarre outpost of the UK known as Gibraltar on our trip to Spain and Portugal in 2006 .
